Free legal training for e-filing
The Eighth Judicial District is offering free training to help attorneys adapt to what is expected to be mandatory e-filing implemented in the near future.
Eighth Judicial District Executive Andrew Isenberg issued a statement that read: "Chapter 184 of the laws of 2012 authorizes mandatory efiling in Erie County Supreme Court. We anticipate that New York's Chief Administrative Judge, A. Gail Prudenti, will soon issue an administrative order designating case types and effective dates for this mandatory program."
In advance of such a ruling, initial training for attorneys and their staff members will be provided at 10 a.m., March 7, and 2 p.m., March 19 in the Ceremonial Courtroom on the second floor of the courthouse in Erie County Hall, 92 Franklin St., Buffalo. Additional training will be offered in June and September.
Attorneys and staff may attend either session and attorney-participants will receive two CLE credits. Information on training is available on the NYSCEF website, www.nycourts.gov/efile
