10 WNY firms on Inc. 5000 list

Ten Western New York companies in a half-dozen sectors are ranked in the 2011 Inc. 5000, the annual list of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
The list, announced this week, ranks companies by a three-year growth rate, as well as within their own sector. Local honorees include:
• KegWorks.com of Buffalo, ranked No. 2,783 overall and No. 127 in the retail category, with 2010 revenues of $6.5 million and a three-year growth rate of 79 percent.
• Synacor of Buffalo, ranked No. 3,060 overall and No. 212 in the software category, with 2010 revenues of $66.2 million and a three-year growth rate of 66 percent.
• Buffalo Filter of Amherst, ranked No. 3,587 overall and No. 319 in the health category, with 2010 revenues of $12 million and a three-year growth rate of 46 percent.
• Audubon Machinery of North Tonawanda, ranked No. 3,617 overall and No. 130 in the manufacturing category, with 2010 revenues of $8.4 million and a three-year growth rate of 45 percent.
• Liberty Pumps of Bergen, ranked No. 3,745 overall and No. 133 in the manufacturing category, with 2010 revenues of $43.7 million and a three-year growth rate of 40 percent.
• Upstate Pharmacy of West Seneca, ranked No. 3,970 overall and No. 359 in the health category, with 2010 revenues of $39.4 million and a three-year growth rate of 33 percent.
• Pulse 360 of Getzville, ranked No. 4,318 overall and No. 378 in the advertising marketing category, with 2010 revenues of $38.5 million and a three-year growth rate of 23 percent.
• Russell Bond of Buffalo, ranked No. 4,647 overall and No. 59 in the insurance category, with 2010 revenues of $5.2 million and a three-year growth rate of 14 percent.
• The Hamister Group of Buffalo, ranked No. 4,725 overall and No. 400 in the health-care category, with 2010 revenues of $46.3 million and a three-year growth rate of 11 percent.
• Christmas Central in Cheektowaga, ranked No. 2,177 overall and No. 104 in the retail category, with 2010 revenues of $10.2 million and a three-year growth rate of 115 percent.
According to Inc. magazine, the median growth rate of companies on the 2011 Inc. 500|5000 list is 94 percent. The companies on this year's list report having created 350,000 jobs in the past three years, with aggregate revenue of $366 billion.
