Evans Bank N.A. is eyeing a former Mennonite Church property in Williamsville as the site of its 14th branch office.

A day after releasing its first-quarter earnings report, it announced that it wants to open a branch at 5178 Main St. near the corner of North Forest Drive. Iskalo Development is in the midst of buying the property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It plans to lease it to Evans Bank after it adapts the building into a full-service bank branch.

Two weeks ago, the Amherst Industrial Development Agency approved an incentive package for the project, which includes construction of a 1,600-square-foot companion building on the same parcel. Iskalo, at the time, declined to name the bank.

Evans Bank President and CEO David Nasca told shareholders in March that the bank plans to open its 14th branch this year and a 15th branch next year. Based in Hamburg, it has long targeted the Northtowns as its growth focus.
