NFL great Lawrence Taylor guilty in sex case

Thu, Mar 24th 2011 12:00 am
NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) - The lawyer for the teenager at the center of Lawrence Taylor's sexual misconduct case says the girl will make an impact statement at the former football star's sentencing.

The 52-year-old ex-Giants linebacker pleaded guilty in January to sexual misconduct and patronizing a 16-year-old prostitute. Under the deal, he isn't expected to get jail time - six years of probation is likely - but he has to register as a sex offender.

Taylor will be sentenced Tuesday. The judge also will determine which sex-offender level to assign to him.

Sex offenders are labeled Level 1, 2 or 3 for low, medium or high risk.

California lawyer Gloria Allred said outside court that she's representing the teenager. She declined to say whether she's filing a lawsuit.
