The management team at one of the area's accounting firms is beefing up with the addition of two people.
The Bonadio Group, the sixth-largest CPA firm in Western New York, added two Rochester-based partners to its corporate management structure. Previously, company founder and CEO Thomas Bonadio handled daily management of six offices. The change stems from growth in the firm, he said.
"We have grown to the point that the management responsibilities for the firm became too large for one person," he said in a release. "This restructure improves our processes, makes us more efficient and accommodates any future transitions of the business as management duties can be delegates across several team members."
Mario Urso and Bruce Zicari joined the firm in 1990 and 1996, respectively. Urso formerly worked at now-defunct CPA giant Arthur Andersen as a senior audit manager, while Zicari came to Bonadio as a result of a merger between Bonadio and his family business, Zicari and Co. LLP.
Additionally, a nine-person board of directors was established. Bonadio, who will serve as chairman, Urso and Zicari will be joined by six other partners in the firm: Jim Zielinski, John Olsen, Ken Pink, Nancy Snyder, Stan Konopko and Kristen Clark. Each of those six have already been elected to terms on the board. Snyder is the only board member from the Amherst office.
The Bonadio Group's local office is in Amherst. It had 46 local CPAs in 2010.
