DENVER (AP) - A federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission doesn't have to release the names of employees who viewed pornography on agency computers during work hours.

U.S. District Judge Christine Arguello issued the opinion Dec. 7.

The Denver Post reported the agency found that 24 SEC employees and seven contract workers accessed pornography on the job from 2005 through this year. Those involved were either fired or disciplined.

Denver attorney Kevin D. Evans was outraged and sued the SEC after it denied his Freedom of Information Act request for their names.

The judge said the SEC has already released enough information to inform the public about the misconduct and that public interest in the names is "negligible, at best."
