People Inc. expects to save more than $30,000 annually with the installation of solar panels through a new partnership.

The nonprofit human services agency received the donated panels for several of its facilities from Buffalo-based Solar Liberty.

That company's Brighter New York program is expected to offset People Inc.'s electricity bill by approximately 7 percent per year.

It plans to install more than 100 similar systems statewide at schools and nonprofits, with organizations benefiting through a rebate program sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.

Similar systems were installed recently at the Buffalo City Mission and several schools in the Catholic Diocese.
