Canadian man indicted for importing ecstasy

A Canadian man was indicted Aug. 26 on charges he attempted to import more than 70,000 illegal pills into the United States in February.
Rawle Arlington Younge, 53, of Brampton, Ont., was arrested as he tried to enter the United States at the Lewiston border crossing Feb. 19. During the inspection of his vehicle, border agents discovered packages containing more than 18,000 ecstasy pills and more than 52,000 pills containing benzylpiperazine (BZP), a controlled substance similar to ecstasy. Agents found the drugs sealed inside the driver and rear passenger door's of the vehicle Younge was driving.
The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine or both.
