BUFFALO (AP) - A 56-year-old Buffalo man has been found guilty of fatally shooting a woman in 1975.
Bernard Thomas Jr. was found guilty April 8 of intentional second-degree murder for the slaying of 19-year-old Michelle Dixon, who was found 35 years ago lying facedown in her bed with gunshot wounds to her head and back.
Cold-case-squad detectives reopened the case in 2008 and obtained a DNA sample from Thomas that they said linked him to the crime. He was arrested last May.
Thomas faces mandatory life in prison when he is sentenced May 21.
