McCoy to present at Buffalo seminar
Hiscock & Barclay LLP Senior Trial Attorney Dennis McCoy will be speaking at a National Business Institute Seminar, "May it Please the Court: Effective Case Presentation at Trial" on March 25 at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo. McCoy, who concentrates his practice on civil litigation, will offer a presentation titled "Opening Arguments-How to Tell a Compelling Story." He will make the same presentation at a NBIS event in Syracuse the next day.
NU professor to speak at UB
Lee Epstein, the Henry Wade Rogers professor at Northwestern University School of Law, will be the next Baldy Center Theorists & Jurists presenter. Epstein will deliver her lecture, "Why (and when) Judges Dissent: A Theoretical and Empirical Analysis," on March 15 at 509 O'Brian Hall on the University at Buffalo North Campus. The event is free and open to the public and will include a lunch beginning at noon, followed by professor Epstein's presentation from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Epstein is a fellow of both the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Academy of Political and Social Science and has authored, coauthored or edited more than 100 articles and essays, as well as 14 books. Altieri highlights Bill of Rights at UB lecture
Timothy Altieri, an associate at Cohen Lombardo, gave a presentation at the University at Buffalo on March 1 focusing on individuals' rights as they relate to a criminal investigation. The lecture focused on rights specifically in regard to the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth amendments. At Cohen Lombardo, Altieri concentrates his practice in criminal defense, civil litigation, and real estate.
Phillips Lytle attorney to speak in Chicago
Phillips Lytle LLP partner David Flynn will be speaking at the American Conference Institute's Chemical Products Liability and Environmental Litigation conference, April 28-29 in Chicago. Flynn will be part of a panel discussion titled: "Staying Ahead of the Curve: Understanding the Science and Regulation of Nanotechnology and the Implications of Chemical and Consumer Products Liability." At Phillips Lytle, Flynn concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law and energy.
BNP to host two-part series on wind supply
The Buffalo Niagara Partnership is hosting the first of a two-part series on integrating wind supply into business. The first event, "Connecting Your Company: Business Opportunities in the Wind Supply Chain," will be held Thursday, March 18 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the fireplace dining room at The Buffalo Club, 388 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. The scheduled keynote speaker for the event is Bruce Hayward, director, specialized gear services, Gleason Corp. There will also be a panel discussion led by Apex Wind Energy and Phillips Lytle LLP.
