Attorney Daniel Oliverio has accepted the position of chairman of the Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority, rising from vice chairman.

Oliverio is a senior partner with Hodgson Russ LLP, a member of the firm's dispute-resolution and intellectual-property practice groups.

By state order, the board is in charge of overseeing finances for Erie County.

A week ago, another lawyer, R. Nils Olsen, was appointed as chair of the Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority, which has oversight of the city's finances.

Olsen was dean of the University at Buffalo Law School from 1998 to 2007, and continues as a professor there. He was appointed to the city control board in January, and succeeds Paul Kolkmeyer as chairman.
