Thu, Jan 14th 2010 12:00 am
The owner of a former auto dealership in South Buffalo has pleaded guilty in federal court to a felony count of conspiracy to defraud.

Michael Culligan, 62, appeared Monday before U.S. District Judge Hon. Richard Arcara.

Prosectuors from the U.S. Attorney's Office said the defendant overvalued motor vehicles while operating a car dealership formerly located on Abbott Road.

The conspiracy-to-defraud charge carries a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison and/or a fine of $250,000. Culligan is set to be sentenced April 15.
