NEW YORK (AP) - A Manhattan judge has thrown out the murder conviction of a man who has spent about 18 years behind bars.
Fernando Bermudez had been convicted in 1992 of killing a 16-year-old in Greenwich Village.
Five witnesses had identified him in court as the killer. But they later said their testimony was false.
The indictment was dismissed Thursday in state Supreme Court.
