DTLA names Burgio as Lawyer of the Year

Flynn taking part in Energy Expo
Phillips Lytle LLP partner David Flynn will participate in the Chautauqua County Energy Conference and Expo Oct. 24 at the Chautauqua Suites in Mayville.
The event will feature exhibits and panel discussions on energy use and development issues, including alternative energy applications, bio-derived fuels, green building design and geothermal energy.
Flynn will serve as a moderator for a panel focused on offshore wind development on the Great Lakes.
Hurwitz lawyer named LCA fellow
Andrea Schillaci, an attorney with Hurwitz & Fine PC, has been selected as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
Schillaci is the head of the Buffalo law firm's business litigation department and focuses her practice on complex business matters, health care, professional liability, and regulatory and compliance issues. The LCA is an honorary society composed of less than one half of one percent of American lawyers; membership is extended by invitation only.
Heilman to advise Canada Institute
Pamela Davis Heilman, a partner in Hodgson Russ LLP, was named to a four-year term on the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Canada Institute advisory board.
She will advise the Wilson Center and its Canada Institute on strategic direction, programming and research agendas, fundraising, scholar recruitment and communications and marketing.
Goldberg lawyer speaks in Lebanon
Joseph Hanna, a partner in Goldberg Segalla LLP, recently gave the presentation "Diversity in the Law: Being a Diverse Lawyer in the United States" at College Mont La Salle in Ain Saade, Lebanon.
At Goldberg, Hanna chairs the diversity task force.
Lawyer addresses UB students on civil law
Timothy Altieri, an associate at Cohen & Lombardo, will speak at the University at Buffalo on Oct. 20 from 7 to 8 p.m.
He will make a presentation on the topic of risk management and legal issues pertaining to civil law at the Student Union Theater Room.
Aliteri spoke yesterday at UB, addressing students on such DWI-related issues as driver rights and legal searches.
Bond hosts seminar on employee benefits
Bond Schoeneck & King PLLC will host a briefing on employee benefits Thursday, Oct. 21, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo.
Firm attorneys Darcie Falsioni and John Godsoe will speak at the briefing. Falsioni is a 1998 graduate of the University at Buffalo Law School, and Godsoe is a 2000 UB Law graduate.
