5 to be honored at Amherst Drug Treatment Court event

The Amherst Drug Court & Therapeutic Foundation will host a reception in recognition of the Amherst Drug Treatment Court's 13th anniversary Wednesday, June 17, at the Sonoma Grille, 5010 Main St., Amherst. Under the direction of presiding judge Hon. Mark Farrell, the court has graduated more than 2,000 participants, 80 percent of whom have not relapsed into drug or alcohol use.

Receiving awards at the event will be Buffalo City Court Judge Hon. Robert Russell, Dynamic Leadership Award; former state Sen. Mary Lou Rath, Community Leadership Award; Edwardine Havens of Reflections Treatment Center, Counselor of the Year Award; Melissa Reese of the Erie County Assigned Counsel Program, Team Member of the Year Award; and O'Dell Hall, president of the Amherst Drug Court Alumni Association, Volunteer of the Year Award.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m., and costs $75 per person or $125 per couple.

Foreclosure seminar happening today

The New York State Bar Association will offer the new CLE course "Dealing With Residential Foreclosures: Defenses, Remedies and Other Approaches to Resolution," at seven locations around the state starting today at the Buffalo Hyatt Regency.

Richardson becomes VP of NY Women's Bar

Karen Richardson was installed last week as vice president of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York. She is a law clerk to Hon. H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr., magistrate judge for the U.S. District Court, Western District of New York.

Richardson is president of the Mental Health Association of Erie County Inc. and chair of the Awards and Long Range Planning committees of WBASNY's Western New York chapter. At the state level, Richardson is co-chair of WBASNY's Health Law Committee. She is active with the Women Physician/Attorney Task Force, a collaboration between the Medical Society of the County of Erie and WBASNY-WNY.

Berardi firm moves

The Law Office of Rosanna Berardi has moved and changed its name.

Now known as Berardi Immigration Law, the firm is located at 2314 Wherle Drive, Williamsville. It also has a Canadian office at 1 Yonge St., Toronto.
