50 subpoenaed in probe of immigration-law fraud
The subpoenas issued May 28 aim to discover whether their recipients are providing fraudulent immigration services and practicing law illegally.
Under state law, only lawyers or accredited representatives can represent people before immigration authorities, and immigration service providers must comply with a range of laws governing their advertising, contracts and other business practices.
