Onondaga Co. judge won't release grand-jury minutes

Thu, May 7th 2009 12:00 am
SYRACUSE (AP) - An Onondaga County Court judge says he won't release grand-jury minutes to prosecutors from a neighboring county who are investigating convicted killer Stacey Castor for a second murder.

Castor is serving more than 50 years in prison for poisoning her second husband, David Castor, with antifreeze and then trying to kill her daughter and frame her as his murderer. She's also suspected of using antifreeze to kill her first husband, Michael Wallace, nine years ago in Cayuga County.

Onondaga County Chief Assistant District Attorney James Maxwell asked Hon. Joseph Fahey to unseal the grand-jury minutes of Castor's case for use by prosecutors in Cayuga County who are investigating Wallace's death.

Fahey rejected the request Monday morning.

Castor has not been charged with Wallace's death.
