Out-of-work certified public accountants searching for job opportunities during the global recession have a new resource to use.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants last week launched an online job bank - cpajobfinder.com - that connects CPAs with open positions in a range of industries, such as accounting, human resources, legal services and information technology. Users can sort the jobs by country, state and profession.

Employers and recruiters, meanwhile, can use the site to find potential job candidates.

"We are in a unique position to be able to help firms to work together in resolving their staffing challenges," AICPA President Barry Melancon said in a prepared statement. "Because of our relationship with firms and members, the AICPA is able to help fulfill each firm's staffing objectives while simultaneously assisting accounting professionals affected by layoffs with immediate employment opportunities."

Job listings on the Web site are free to AICPA members. Corporate employers and recruiters must pay a usage fee.
