Nomination panel creates Web site

The New York State Commission on Judicial Nomination has launched an informational Web site.

The site, nysegov.com/cjn, includes a description of the commission's role and operation; a list of its members; the legal sources for the commission's mandate; and a list of all historical nominees forwarded to the governor since its inception.

The commission came under fire recently from Gov. David Paterson and others for failing to submit the names of any women to replace outgoing chief justice of the state Court of Appeals, Hon. Judith Kaye, who retired Dec. 31. Paterson called for a review of the procedures by which the commission selects its candidates.
