UB students arrested in hazing

Mon, Nov 24th 2008 12:00 am
BUFFALO (AP) - Authorities say two University at Buffalo students face criminal charges for an apparent hazing that involved covering fraternity brothers with purple spray paint and hot sauce.

One student was taken to a hospital after police arriving at a Buffalo apartment about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday found several students in their underwear with the concoction on their faces.

UB officials say the fraternity involved, Alpha Tau Omega, is not recognized by the university.

Jason Rosen and Kyle O'Shea, both 20, are charged with hazing and reckless endangerment. O'Shea also is charged with obstruction of governmental administration, and Rosen faces a marijuana possession charge.

UB police say Rosen, Oshea, and two other 20-year-olds have been suspended.
