Bouvier firm appoints managing committee

Peter Martin, Emilio Colaiacovo and Rafael Gomez have been elected as the 2008-09 management committee at Bouvier Partnership LLP.

Martin concentrates his practice in corporate, tax and business law, representing purchasers and sellers of businesses and real estate lenders, purchasers and sellers. He also handles elder-law matters, estates, wills and trusts.

Colaiacovo concentrates his practice in matrimonial and family law, but also handles real estate transactions and criminal-defense matters.

Gomez primarily handles personal-injury cases, including toxic torts. He also litigates insurance issues, commercial disputes, breach of contract and employment-discrimination matters.

The firm has 22 lawyers who practice from offices in Hamburg, Elma and downtown Buffalo.

Porcellio moves to Rochester firm

Litigator Sharon Porcellio has joined the Rochester law firm Ward Norris Heller and Reidy LLP as a partner.

Most recently a partner in Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, she has 25 years of experience and has represented businesses and institutions in commercial disputes and labor/employment matters.

A graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and the University of Rochester, Porcellio has chaired the New York State Bar Association's Commercial and Federal Litigation Section and was recently appointed as co-chair of the New York State-Federal Judicial Council advisory group.

She lives in Orchard Park.

Manning joins Roswell Park board

Kenneth Manning, a partner with Phillips Lytle LLP, has been appointed to Roswell Park Cancer Institute's board of directors by Sheldon Silver, speaker of the New York State Assembly.

Manning handles corporate litigation, personal-injury litigation and class actions. He's a graduate of the University at Buffalo Law School and of UB's engineering school. He is a member emeritus of the UB Law Dean's Advisory Council and past chair of the engineering school's Dean's Advisory Council.

His three-year term on the Roswell board is effective immediately.

Jaeckle's Joyce to present at trucking conference

Dan Joyce, a partner with Jaeckle Fleisch-mann and Mugel LLP, will speak at a 2008 Canada-United States trucking conference being held today at the Holiday Inn Kitchener-Waterloo.

The conference will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Joyce will update attendees on homeland-security and immigration issues that impact international motor carriers. Joyce concentrates his practice on all aspects of immigration and cross-border matters.
