Robert Glaser has been designated to serve as chairman of the Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority, the governor's office announced Thursday.

Glaser is the managing director of Freed Maxick & Battaglia CPAs PC and RSM McGladrey in Buffalo. He has 39 years of experience in public accounting, including 13 years with a Big 4 international accounting firm. Freed Maxick & Battaglia has more than 200 personnel at offices in Buffalo, Batavia and Rochester. The firm's tax practice operates under the RSM McGladrey name.

Glaser previously served as the vice chairman of the control board, the agency charged with overseeing Erie County finances.

Joseph Goodell, a well-known business executive, has been named vice chairman.
