BUFFALO (AP) - A former postmaster pleaded guilty to embezzling $100,000 from a Western New York post office between October 2006 and January 2008.
U.S. Attorney Terrance Flynn says 46-year-old Julie Cashmore of Lakewood stole Postal Service money orders and proceeds from stamp sales while she was postmaster in Greenhurst, about 60 miles southwest of Buffalo.
She faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when she's sentenced before U.S. District Judge Hon. William Skretny on Dec. 17.
