Mather out as director of UB Law Baldy Center
Buffalo Law Journal
The University at Buffalo will be searching for a new director for its Baldy Center for Law & Social Policy following the resignation of Lynn Mather.
UB Law School Dean Makau Mutua said in a June 30 announcement to faculty that he and Mather "have mutually agreed" on her decision to step down effective Aug. 15.
In an e-mail to the Center's friends and supporters, Mather said she will teach this fall and then be on sabbatical leave for the spring.
"I have greatly enjoyed working with you all, and want to thank you for your ideas, energy and support. All commitments for Baldy events and funding for 2008-09 will continue unchanged," Mather wrote.
Mather had been the Baldy Center's director since July 1, 2002.
"I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to Lynn for her exemplary service over her remarkable six-year tenure. Lynn brought distinction and organizational clarity to the Baldy Center," Mutua said in the announcement. "I will continue to value Lynn's friendship and collegiality as she assumes full teaching responsibilities at the law school."
Over the next few weeks, Mutua will be consulting with faculty to select her successor.
