Man admits taking photos up shoppers' skirts

Mon, Nov 26th 2007 12:00 am
SYRACUSE (AP) - A 31-year-old man admitted using a camera to take pictures up the skirts of unsuspecting women shoppers at a suburban Syracuse shopping plaza.

Brent Dale, of Earlville, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Onondaga County Judge Anthony Aloi to a single felony count of second-degree unlawful surveillance in connection with the May 24 incident in the Target store at Towne Center in Fayetteville.

Dale will be sentenced Dec. 11 to the maximum penalty of two to four years in prison.

Defense lawyer Salvatore Pavone said the guilty plea satisfied charges involving seven victims at different stores in the area. Authorities will not pursue prosecution for any pornography found on a couple of computers seized from Dale, the lawyer said.

Dale admitted using a digital camera attached to his lower leg to take the pictures. He also will be required to register as a convicted sex offender.
